FUKAMUSHI SENCHA FROM KAKEGAWA, SHIZUOKA: Grown in Kakegawa City, the region that has received the Regional Award for deep-smed sencha at Japan's National Competition 27 times.
COLD BREW OR HOT: Deep-smed leaves release flavor quickly, even in cold water. Put one bag in 500 ml–1 L (2–4 cups) of cold water, shake, and refrigerate for a smooth, mellow taste without bitterness. For a half-gallon pitcher, use 2 bags. For hot , steep in 160–180°F water for at least 30–60 seconds; steep longer for a stronger taste.
MATCHA-BLENDED BY A 7TH-DAN TASTER: Our owner, Mitsuyuki , was awarded a 7th-dan rank in judging at Japan's National Judging Competition, a ranking system like the dan grades of judo and kendo. He blends fukamushi sencha with matcha for a vivid green color and rich aroma.
WHAT'S INSIDE & HOW TO STORE: 25 pyramid bags made of nylon mesh, with no string, packed in a vacuum-sealed pouch. The pouch has no zipper, so after opening, move the bags to an airtight container and keep them away from heat and humidity.

Pitcher-size Japanese green from Kakegawa, Shizuoka. Kakegawa City has received the Regional Award for deep-smed sencha at Japan's National Competition 27 times. Our fukamushi (deep-smed) sencha is blended with matcha by our owner, Mitsuyuki , who was awarded a 7th-dan rank in judging at Japan's National Judging Competition. One large bag (5 g) makes 500 ml–1 L of ; for a half-gallon pitcher, use 2 bags. For cold brew, put one bag in cold water, shake, and refrigerate. For hot , steep one bag in 160–180°F water for at least 30–60 seconds, or longer for a stronger taste. No strainer or pot needed. The bags are made of nylon mesh and have no string.
